Construction of the residential Sea World Residence tourist complex was launched in May this year in the Tunisian city of Hammamet. The PSJ joint stock company will construct five independent buildings on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, containing a total of 542 apartments. The price for this work will exceed 56 million Euro.
This construction work expands the list of PSJ activities on the Tunisian market and follows onto the successfully completed project for expanding the La Goulette docks. The M.F.M. Tourism, Hotels and Resorts and Developer company is the investor in Sea World Residence. 396 four bed and 146 six bed apartments will be constructed on an area of nearly 120 thousand m2 sixty kilometres to the southeast of the capital city of Tunisia. Commercial areas will be available on the ground floors of the individual buildings. The constructed complex will have the corresponding number of parking place (according to Tunisian standards approx. 1.5 parking places per one apartment] and it will also contain swimming pools and relaxation centres. The total area of the apartments will be 45,200 m2 and the commercial areas will take up 9,565 m2.
The whole investment project underwent significant modifications to the project documentation and the spatial layout of the buildings, leading towards maximum attractiveness of the complex and the effectiveness of expended costs, during the first quarter of this year. The five apartment buildings will have a floor plan in the shape of an open letter “V“, during which time both wings of the individual buildings will be joined by a glazed atrium.
“The delay in the launch of the actual construction work, which is very typical for the Arab world, does not mean that nothing was being done on the construction site during the preceding months. Bores for geological surveys were performed, the terrain of the land was prepared, we have prepared the equipment for the construction site and in particular construction of the 30 x 15 metre warehouse was completed. The warehouse now contains all the required construction steel. The current May groundwork is connected to the requirement of pumping out ground water from the construction pits for individual buildings. I expect that the subsequent work will take place fairly rapidly as a result of the chosen technologies. The maximum number of workers will be put to work on construction, which will enable realisation of all blocks simultaneously. The whole Sea World Residence tourist complex should be completed in March 2012“, stated project manager Ing. Vratislav Výborný. Ing. Martin Švoma, in management of the construction work, confirms this.
Project financing has been assured in the form of export investments from the Czech Republic. The investor will expand its existing services in the field of the tourist sector by this method. A significant volume of the construction deliveries and finishing work, such as tiles, metal fitting and carpentry work will be assured by Czech suppliers.
