Construction of Kalevala Woodworking OSB Plant

One of the most modern factories in the field of woodworking, not only in Russia but also in Europe. The only producer of OSB in Russia. The largest contract in PSJ history. All these characteristics describe the new plant OOO DOK Kalevala, which in June 2013 was opened fully. The plant was built near the city of Petrozavodsk and it cost around 151 million of EUR including delivery of complete technology from Siempelkamp. Funding of the project provided Czech Export Bank in collaboration with Czech Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP).
The Kalevala compound was built on a greenfield site, its total area is 380,755 m² and floor area 158,848 m² including outdoor storage space. The compound consists of several interconnected buildings and specialized technological equipment and also a number of concrete surfaces and area roads. In its first phase the new plant has capacity to produce 300 thousand cubic meters of OSB per year.
