BB Centrum – FILADELFIE Office Building

Basic information

Locality: Prague, Czech
Contractor: PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s.

Description of project:

The PSJ brand has been involved in the construction of the BB Centrum complex in Prague 4 – Michle since 1996. The erection of the FILADELFIE tower block was started in May 2008 and completed in July 2010. FILADELFIE stands out not only among the neighbouring office buildings but also in the list of references of PSJ. Its demanding nature and high construction costs make it one of the biggest projects in the company’s history.

After nearly 160 thousand cubic metres of earth was removed from the foundation pit the joint-less construction of the unique building was initiated. The building offers 74,000 m2 of floor space divided among 6 underground and 17 aboveground floors, all hidden in a fashionable glazed envelope. The architectural design of the building by DaM, s.r.o., architectonic studio, limited liability company, is based on a strong ground plan concept of the individual floors. The mass of the building is shaped like a cross inscribed in an ellipse, which elevates the overall expression of the structure. This concept is further supported by the shape of the sides of the building – the four façade “waves” evoke the feeling of a dynamic peripheral coat and dematerialise the basic shape of the building.

FILADELFIE offers nearly 30,000 m2 of office space and 1,000 parking places in underground garages as well as a wide selection of shops and services across the total area of over 4,500 m2. As for the quality of the interior and user comfort FILADELFIE represents a state-of-the-art office building.

The spacious Baar Park was designed around the FILADELFIE building. Its green areas together with a small lake form a pleasant and quiet zone that is accessible to the public.
